Nagaland educational institutions host science exhibitions and workshops

Educational institutions across Nagaland held various science exhibitions, academic workshops, and student programs during August 2026 to promote innovation, research, and sustainability.

In Jalukie, the Zeme Baptist Church Council and Kendeu Coaching Centre hosted a science exhibition at Baptist High School themed “Harnessing Science for a Sustainable Future.” Peren Deputy Commissioner Hiazu Meru addressed the event, emphasizing the need for entrepreneurship and scientific innovation to address challenges in education, healthcare, and the economy, while noting environmental concerns regarding urbanization and logging.

Patkai Christian College (Autonomous) also conducted a science exhibition under the theme “Science Beyond Limits.”

Additionally, Kohima Science College (Autonomous) concluded a three-day lecture workshop titled “Recent Advances in Chemical Sciences (RACS-2026).” Sponsored by Science Academies, the event featured experts from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru, the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. The workshop provided students and researchers with insights into contemporary chemical research trends and scientific methodologies.
