Nagaland faces developmental challenges and political corruption
Nagaland is currently navigating significant developmental hurdles and systemic political issues. Despite decades of independence, the region struggles with inadequate infrastructure, particularly regarding road conditions. In many areas, dilapidated roads and a lack of paved surfaces hinder transportation and isolate villages, leaving residents with limited access to essential services.
Beyond physical infrastructure, the state faces deep-seated political challenges. While public discourse often blames voters for participating in vote-buying, the practice is driven by complex networks of campaign funding and a perceived lack of accountability. Some voters accept cash from candidates due to a sense that elected representatives will be inaccessible once the election period concludes, making immediate financial transactions feel like the only tangible benefit from a distant political system.
