Nagaland landslide relief in Mon district gets party and cross‑border aid
The Naga People’s Front (NPF) party sent a delegation to Mon district, Nagaland, on July 29 to meet the Konyak Union and hand over a Rs 6 lakh relief package for families affected by the July 19 landslide that killed 11 people. The team, led by Advisor to the Chief Minister Apong Pongener and senior NPF officials, also expressed condolences for a later landslide in Mokokchung that claimed two lives.
Separately, the Eastern Konyak Union (EKU) from Myanmar visited the Konyak Union headquarters in Mon on July 28, offering a modest financial contribution to the same catastrophe relief fund. EKU President P M Aman highlighted the long‑standing people‑to‑people ties across the India‑Myanmar border and said the gesture underscored solidarity between Konyak communities on both sides of the frontier.
