Nagaland officials review preparations for Census 2027

The State Level Census Coordination Committee (SLCCC) in Nagaland has reviewed progress for Census 2027 and discussed preparations for Phase-II activities. The meeting was chaired by Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen.

Director of Census Operations Dr. Keneilhoutuolie Miachieo reported that Phase-I, which included House Listing Operations and a digital Housing Census across 157 charges, was completed as scheduled in mid-2026.

Phase-II will focus on Population Enumeration. The proposed schedule includes a self-enumeration exercise from January 10 to 24, 2027, followed by population enumeration from January 25 to February 28, 2027, and a revision round in early March 2027. The committee also addressed training requirements for various personnel and media publicity plans.
