Nagaland Rajya Sainik Board reviews veteran welfare measures

The 24th Annual General Meeting of the Nagaland Rajya Sainik Board (RSB) was held at Lok Bhavan in Kohima to review welfare, rehabilitation, and resettlement measures for ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, widows, and their dependents.

Key discussions included strengthening the RSB Corpus Fund to ensure sustainable support and ensuring the uniform implementation of reservation policies for ex-servicemen within State Government employment. The Board also addressed the need for enhanced financial assistance for World War II veterans and revised benefits for Gallantry Awardees.

Additional priorities identified include the creation of Zila Sainik Boards in the Mon and Tuensang districts and addressing manpower shortages in welfare offices. The meeting also highlighted the need to expedite the empanelment of private hospitals under the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) to improve access to specialized medical treatment in Nagaland. Furthermore, the Board discussed employment opportunities for Naga youth and recruitment within the Naga Regiment.
