Nagaland sub-committee recommends termination of 15 irregular appointments

A Nagaland Cabinet sub-committee has recommended the termination of 15 appointments following an investigation into irregular hiring practices flagged by the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF). The scrutiny involves 107 unique cases identified across 16 government departments.

The recommended terminations include 12 appointments to posts under the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) that were made without open advertisement, as well as three appointments made against unsanctioned posts. Additionally, four cases involving improper recruitment procedures have already resulted in terminations.

Of the remaining 69 cases, 22 involve appointments allegedly made in violation of a state government recruitment ban issued on April 21, 2020. The sub-committee has classified the remaining disputed cases into different categories for further consideration. The final decisions will be presented to the Cabinet.
