Nagaland weather alert issued for heavy rain and thunderstorms
The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has issued a four-day weather outlook for all districts in Nagaland, forecasting thunderstorms, lightning, and varying intensities of rainfall from September 8 to 11.
A High Alert has been issued for Longleng, Mokokchung, Mon, and Wokha for September 11, when thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by scattered heavy rain are expected. Tseminyu is also forecast to receive moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorms and lightning.
Throughout the period, several other districts including Chumoukedima, Dimapur, Kohima, Niuland, Peren, Phek, and Tuensang are expected to experience light to moderate rain. The NSDMA noted that cumulative rainfall is expected to vary significantly across the state, with the highest amounts anticipated in Mokokchung, Wokha, and Longleng.
