Nagasaki and Chiba assemblies address dam projects and regional welfare

In Nagasaki, Governor Ken Hirata announced that a session to hear opinions from prefectural assembly members regarding the Ishiki Dam project will be held on September 17. Following this, the Governor intends to consult with the Mayor of Kawatana, the Mayor of Sasebo, and 13 households in the Kawahara district by early October. While a specific decision date for the project has not been set, the administration is working to reach a conclusion regarding the project's direction.

In Chiba, the September regular session of the Prefectural Assembly featured representative questions from the Komeito party and the Chiba New Policy Assembly. Discussions covered a wide range of regional issues, including disaster prevention, inflation countermeasures, medical and welfare services, and public transportation. Additionally, discussions highlighted the importance of addressing nursing shortages and improving working environments to ensure stable regional healthcare and cooperation between hospitals and home-care services.
