Nagasaki Basho sumo tournament to return on December 3

Grand Sumo's winter tour, the Nagasaki Basho, is scheduled to be held at the Nagasaki Stadium City Happiness Arena on December 3. This marks the event's return to the region after a two-year hiatus.

Representatives from the Japan Sumo Association, including Edagawa-oyakata, recently visited Nagasaki Governor Hirata to discuss the event. Approximately 110 wrestlers are expected to participate, including Hoshoryu, Onosato, and Hiradoumi. The event will feature public training sessions, bouts, and traditional sumo demonstrations such as 'Shokkiri'.
