Nagasaki City to host prefecture-first eSports event

Nagasaki City will host eSports as a special event for the first time in the prefecture during the 28th Citizen Sports and Recreation Festival on October 11, 2026. Organized in collaboration with the Nagasaki eSports Union, the initiative aims to promote intergenerational exchange and address regional issues such as frailty prevention among the elderly.

The competition will feature ‘Taiko no Tatsujin: Donderful Festival’ and will be divided into two sessions: one for participants under 60 and another for those aged 60 and older. The event will take place at the Yu-ING Hamamachi store eSports corner, serving as a community hub to support local revitalization efforts.
