Nagasaki dining establishments see multiple closures in 2026

Multiple dining establishments across Nagasaki Prefecture have closed or announced closures throughout 2026. In August, the izakaya Nihonkai Shoya Nagasaki Shianbashi branch and the Manten Sakaba Sasebo Kamikyomachi branch, both operated by Always Act Co., Ltd., ceased operations on August 29.

Other notable closures in the region include the Izakaya Iste Kajiya branch in Nagasaki City, which closed at the end of August, and the Toriden Isahaya Kaizu branch in Isahaya City, which closed on March 31. In Shimabara, the restaurant Kōchan Ramen closed on April 30, and the yakiniku establishment Baisakutei closed in late March.

Some businesses have transitioned rather than exited the market entirely. For instance, the ramen shop Yume o Katare Nagasaki closed in April after a planned three-year term, only to reopen under the new name 'Uchu ni Ikitai' in May. Similarly, Yakiniku Chikurin Tokitsu transitioned to a new business format.
