A 65-year-old construction worker has been arrested in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, on suspicion of attempted coercion. Authorities allege that in August, the man and an accomplice harassed a man in his 60s by repeatedly calling him and demanding he leave his residence. The victim reported the incident to the police, preventing the forced eviction.
The suspect has denied the allegations, stating, “I did not threaten him.” Police are continuing to investigate the motives and circumstances of the incident.
In a separate incident in Omura City, Nagasaki Prefecture, a firefighter was arrested on suspicion of forcing an acquaintance to shave their head. The investigation is ongoing.
