A bank manager in Nagaur, Rajasthan, successfully prevented an attempted ATM robbery by trapping two suspects inside the booth. The incident occurred late Sunday night at a UCO Bank ATM in the Marwar Mundwa police station area.
According to reports, the bank's e-surveillance system alerted officials to suspicious activity involving two individuals equipped with a gas cutter and other tools. Upon receiving the alert, branch manager Sarika Chaudhary arrived at the scene with her husband and family. She acted quickly to lower the ATM booth's shutter from the outside, effectively locking the suspects inside.
The ATM reportedly contained over 1.6 million rupees in cash, which had been stocked in anticipation of a planned three-day bank strike. Police arrived at the scene and arrested the two suspects, identified as Bharat Prajapat, a local dhaba operator, and Komal Kumar Rajput, an employee from Bihar. Authorities recovered the gas cutter and other tools used in the attempted theft.
