Nagi Diary cast attends Japan premiere following Cannes success

The Japan premiere of the film 'Nagi Diary,' directed by Koji Fukada, was held in Tokyo, featuring lead actors Matsutaka Takako, Shizuka Ishibashi, and Kenichi Matsuyama. The film, which was previously showcased at the 79th Cannes Film Festival in the competition category, received a seven-minute standing ovation during its international premiere.

During the event, Kenichi Matsuyama shared a humorous moment when he revealed a souvenir brought back from Cannes by Takako and Ishibashi: a T-shirt featuring a bowl of Vietnamese pho from a restaurant in France. The lighthearted interaction provided a contrast to the film's serious themes, which depict human drama and loss in a town modeled after Nagi in Okayama Prefecture. The cast also reflected on their time filming together in the rural setting.
