Nagoya Asian Games: Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong athletes compete
The Nagoya Asian Games continue with significant performances from Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong athletes across various disciplines.
In swimming, Chinese Taipei’s Tsai Jui-hung and Chang Chiao-yi advanced to the men’s 200m breaststroke finals after strong heats. Liu Pei-yin also secured a spot in the women’s 50m freestyle final.
In combat sports, Hong Kong’s Liang Yu-hang secured a silver medal in the men’s 60kg sanda event, marking a historic achievement for the Hong Kong martial arts team. However, Chinese Taipei faced setbacks in karate; medal favorites Ku Tsui-ping and Chung Ya-chi were eliminated from contention.
In skateboarding, Hong Kong’s 12-year-old Wong Yi-suen, the delegation’s youngest athlete, is preparing for the women’s park competition. Meanwhile, Chinese Taipei’s gymnastics and athletics teams are also actively competing for podium finishes.
