Nagoya Station MEICHIKA mall sees new retail openings
New retail establishments are opening in the MEICHIKA underground shopping area at Nagoya Station.
Maruya Honten, a specialty hitsumabushi (eel) restaurant, has opened its Nagoya Station MEICHIKA branch. This reopening follows the closure of its previous Meieki location due to the closure of Meitetsu Department Store. The new shop features a modern Japanese design and includes counter seating for solo diners. To celebrate the opening, the restaurant is offering various promotional items, including limited-edition gift bags and seasonal menu items like 'Mangetsu' eel dishes.
Additionally, Meitetsu Shouten is launching its third location, Meitetsu Shouten MEICHIKA, on September 4, 2026. The shop focuses on high-quality gifts and gourmet items, featuring exclusive products such as 'SOU' gateau chocolat with coffee notes and tea-infused meringue cookies made from Aichi and Gifu tea leaves. The store aims to showcase the charm of the Meitetsu railway lines through premium sweets and coffee products.
