Nagpur Vidyapeeth waives exam fees for students in drought-hit tehsils

Nagpur Vidyapeeth has announced a waiver of examination fees for eligible college students residing in 35 drought-affected tehsils across the Nagpur, Wardha, Gondia, and Bhandara districts for the 2026-27 academic session. The decision aims to provide financial relief to students from farming families struggling with drought conditions.

Under the new directive, examination applications for both regular and former students will be accepted without fees. Students who have already paid their examination fees are eligible for a refund, provided their colleges submit the required information via a prescribed application form within 15 days. For ongoing or upcoming application processes, the university has implemented a ‘zero fee challan’ facility in its online system.

The specific areas included are all 14 tehsils of Nagpur, 8 of Wardha, 8 of Gondia, and 5 of Bhandara. This decision follows a meeting of state university Vice Chancellors chaired by the Minister of Higher and Technical Education.
