Nagpur-Warangal-Vijayawada Highway set for December 2027 completion

The Nagpur–Mancherial–Warangal–Khammam–Vijayawada Greenfield Highway is scheduled for completion by December 31, 2027, according to Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. The 310-kilometre project, of which 280 kilometres lie within Telangana, aims to improve connectivity between Telangana, Nagpur, and Vijayawada.

While the project originally targeted a 730-day completion timeline, it faced delays due to court cases and land acquisition challenges. Minister Reddy informed the Telangana Legislative Council that most land acquisition issues have been resolved, with only minor stretches of approximately 1 to 5.7 kilometres remaining. He assured that farmers would receive compensation based on market rates.

The Mancherial–Warangal section has already seen tenders awarded and agreements signed as of May 2023. Construction is being conducted under the supervision of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), with the State government serving as the nodal agency. Additionally, the Minister stated that the NHAI will be instructed to provide a highway exit near Parkal to assist local residents.
