Venezuela regional updates: infrastructure, seismic recovery, and social programs
Various regional initiatives are underway across Venezuela to address infrastructure, public services, and social development. In La Guaira, authorities aim to complete 80% of rehabilitation works for 119 educational centers before the September school term begins.
In the state of Miranda, the Venezuela Renace plan has announced the recovery of nine buildings in the Oropeza Castillo sector of Guarenas following seismic damage. While nine structures are deemed repairable, eight others have been marked for demolition due to safety concerns, with relocation plans in place for affected families.
In Yaracuy, the municipality of Independencia has activated a contingency plan to distribute drinking water via tanker trucks to mitigate shortages caused by heavy rains and increased turbidity in water sources. Meanwhile, in Naguanagua, local officials have launched a program to engage directly with residential condominiums to resolve community issues.
Additionally, the financial institution Bancamiga concluded the third edition of its “Creando Ideas. Juntos por Venezuela” program. The initiative provided design-thinking workshops to over 300 students across five institutions in Greater Caracas, focusing on sustainable development goals.
