Nagykanizsa honors top students and secures 1.7 billion for school upgrades

The city of Nagykanizsa held a ceremony to commend students who achieved outstanding results in their final exams and vocational qualifications. Mayor Jácint Horváth praised the graduates for their dedication and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence. The event also featured remarks from local officials, including Csaba Bene, chancellor of the Nagykanizsa Vocational Training Centre, and MP Csaba Lovkó.

In parallel, the Nagykanizsa Regional Centre announced that nine schools in the area received a total of 1.7 billion forint in energy‑efficiency and building‑renovation grants. The largest award, 310 million forint, went to Letenyei Andrássy Gyula Elementary School for a project that will house two institutions in one upgraded building. Other beneficiaries include schools in Letenye, Muraszemenye, Nagyrécse, ZalaKomár, and Murakeresztúr. Economic director Tamás Horváth explained that the funds will cover façade insulation, flat‑roof insulation, and classroom refurbishments.
