Nagykanizsa prepares for 20th Wine and Dödölle Festival

The 20th Kanizsai Wine and Dödölle Festival is scheduled to take place in Nagykanizsa on September 11-12. This jubilee event focuses on tradition preservation, featuring a strong emphasis on folk, traditional, and world music.

Culinary highlights include a cooking competition and a spectacle kitchen where 500 servings of stuffed peppers will be prepared in a 240-liter pot. Organizers noted a record number of applicants for the dödölle cooking competition, though some teams were turned away due to limited space in the city center.

The musical lineup includes performances by Zaporozsec, the ABBA Tribute Show, Csík Zenekar, and Besh O Drom, alongside various local artists. Cultural programming for families will be held at the 1956 Memorial Garden, featuring puppet theater, interactive concerts, and a traveling playground.
