Nahuel Gallo requests international arrest warrants for Venezuelan officials

Argentine gendarme Nahuel Gallo has formally requested that Argentine Federal Justice issue international arrest warrants for five Venezuelan officials. The request is part of an ongoing investigation into alleged crimes against humanity following Gallo’s 448-day detention in Venezuela.

Gallo, who was detained in December 2024 while traveling to visit family, was held at the El Rodeo I prison and accused of terrorism—charges he denies. The petition targets Tarek William Saab, who served as Venezuela’s Attorney General during the detention, along with Carlos Enrique Rincones Serven (alias “Tiburón”), Alexander José Martínez Endeiza, Judge Carlos Enrique Liendo Acosta, and prosecutor Farik Karín Mora Salcedo.

The legal action seeks to hold these individuals accountable for the conditions of his captivity and the irregular judicial processes used to justify his imprisonment. The Argentine judiciary will now determine whether to proceed with the requested warrants and summons.
