Nahuel Guzmán receives seven‑match CONCACAF suspension for abusive language

The CONCACAF disciplinary committee has handed Tigres UANL goalkeeper Nahuel Guzmán a seven‑match ban in CONCACAF club competitions. The sanction follows his use of abusive language toward officials and participation in a post‑match confrontation after the 2026 CONCACAF Champions League final, which Tigres lost to Toluca on penalties.

Alongside Guzmán, French striker André‑Pierre Gignac and Toluca defender Antonio Briseño each received three‑match suspensions for their involvement in the same altercation. The bans apply only to future CONCACAF tournaments, such as the 2027 Champions League, and do not affect participation in Liga MX or the Leagues Cup. Guzmán will become eligible again if Tigres reaches the semifinal stage of the 2027 competition.
