Nahuel Huapi National Park closes Tronador and Los Alerces circuits

Tourism circuits to Cerro Tronador and Cascada Los Alerces remain closed following heavy rainfall and significant flooding of the Manso River. The Nahuel Huapi National Park administration confirmed the closures are a safety measure due to the impact of recent weather on local infrastructure and conditions.

The flooding was triggered by intense precipitation during red alerts issued by the National Meteorological Service on September 23 and 25. Combined with low temperatures and mountain snow, the rainfall caused the Manso River to rise significantly, affecting the Pampa Linda area.

Technical teams from the Patagonia Norte Regional Directorate are currently conducting field assessments in Pampa Linda and the Cerro Tronador sectors to evaluate damage and determine when access can safely be restored. Official updates regarding the reopening of these circuits will be provided through the park's formal communication channels.
