Nahuel Pennisi releases tribute album to Mercedes Sosa

Argentine musician Nahuel Pennisi has released a new album titled ‘Nahuel Pennisi canta a Mercedes Sosa’. The project is a ten-song tribute to the legendary Latin American singer, spanning various genres including folklore, tango, and Argentine rock.

The repertoire features classic tracks such as ‘Cuando tenga la tierra’, ‘Zamba para no morir’, ‘Soy pan, soy paz, soy más’, and ‘Cinco siglos igual’, alongside rock-influenced songs like ‘Parte del aire’ and ‘Promesas sobre el bidet’. Pennisi described the project as the most significant challenge of his career, noting that Sosa’s music helped shape his musical identity since childhood.

To complement the audio, each track is accompanied by a music video filmed in Tucumán, the birthplace of Mercedes Sosa, under the direction of Niko Sedano.
