NAIA announces PrestoSports Players of the Week in multiple sports

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced its PrestoSports Players of the Week across several sports.

In football, Anthony Lonergan of Benedictine earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors after recovering a fumbled punt in the end zone for a game-winning touchdown against No. 1 Grand View. Joshua Ferguson of McPherson was named Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in a 40-14 win over Evangel.

In men’s soccer, Faulkner (Ala.) players Bernardo Juca and Andre Ferreira swept the weekly honors. Juca was named Offensive Player of the Week after scoring game-winning goals in shutout victories against Xavier and William Carey, while Ferreira earned Defensive Player of the Week for anchoring the defense.

In women’s volleyball, Northwestern (Iowa) senior Stella Winterfeld was named Attacker of the Week. Winterfeld recorded 46 kills and 54.5 points during a perfect week that included victories over Top 25 opponents Viterbo and Dakota Wesleyan.
