NAIA international passenger traffic rises 2.6 percent

International passenger traffic at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) increased by 2.6 percent year-on-year, reaching 19.93 million passengers between January 1 and October 22, 2026. This growth occurred despite global aviation disruptions caused by conflict in the Middle East.

According to airport operator New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), the international share of total airport traffic rose to 48.1 percent, up from 46.6 percent the previous year. Conversely, domestic passenger volume saw a decrease of 3.4 percent, totaling 21.49 million.

To support growing demand, NNIC has invested over P6.8 billion in terminal and airside upgrades. Recent developments include the addition of new dining and retail establishments in Terminal 2, such as Kenny Rogers Roasters, Seattle’s Best Coffee, Paris Baguette, and General’s Lechon. Additionally, airlines including Air France, Philippine Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and IndiGo are expanding or planning new international routes to Manila.
