Našice school renovation sees former pupil return as plasterer

Darko Malijurek, who attended the regional Osnovna škola kralja Tomislava Našice more than five decades ago, has returned to the same building in a completely different role. After his company Elektro‑Lovošević was awarded the renovation contract, Malijurek is working as a plasterer on the school’s refurbishment. He reflected on his memories of the classrooms, noting that the school – over a hundred years old – has educated generations. While his two daughters are now nurses, he said the chance to contribute to the modernisation of the historic school “is the greatest happiness”. The renovation, part of a broader project to update the school’s facilities for new students this autumn, includes repairing walls, installing new interiors and improving the overall environment for future pupils.
