Nail Jusić indicted for abuse of office and falsified diplomas in Bosnia

The Tuzla Canton Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against Nail Jusić, 59, former president of the Municipal Council of Živinice and former responsible official at the Živinice Health Center. The nine‑point indictment alleges three counts of abuse of position, five counts of receiving benefits for influence peddling, and one count of inciting the forging of official documents.

According to the charge sheet, Jusić used his political and social influence between 2016 and 2025/26 to favour multiple individuals in public‑sector hiring, to influence appointments to the Municipal Election Commission and the Municipal Expert Commission, and to manipulate land‑ownership procedures. He is also accused of falsifying attendance records to obtain salary and other allowances. Moreover, the indictment claims he paid officials at the International University of Goražde to issue false diplomas for five persons—including three of his family members—who never attended classes or passed exams, and those diplomas were later used for employment. Finally, he is charged with illegally influencing the hiring of his son as a psychologist at the Živinice Health Center. The prosecutor’s office has asked the municipal court to extend Jusić’s pre‑trial detention and to impose a ten‑year ban on holding certain public functions.
