Naile Büşra Sarıgül death investigation reopened as murder case

The death of Naile Büşra Sarıgül, an occupational safety technician who died after falling at a construction site in Manisa on August 3, 2023, has been reopened as a murder investigation. Initially, the Manisa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office closed the case, citing a heart attack as the cause of death and a lack of grounds for prosecution.

However, new evidence emerged during the investigation into the murder of Mihriban Yılmaz in İzmir. Digital evidence, specifically phone messages between Fatih İnan's relatives, suggested a connection to the earlier death. In these messages, relatives reportedly discussed the 'old' incident, which investigators believe refers to Sarıgül's death.

A new indictment has been prepared by the Manisa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. It alleges that Fatih İnan sexually assaulted Sarıgül and subsequently pushed her from a height to make the incident appear to be an industrial accident. İnan faces charges of qualified sexual assault and qualified intentional murder.
