Naim Süleymanoğlu Youth Sports Center foundation laid in Sultangazi
The foundation stone has been laid for the Naim Süleymanoğlu Youth Sports and Life Center in the Cebeci neighborhood of Sultangazi. The project is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Sultangazi Municipality. The facility will span a construction area of approximately 25,000 square meters and is named after the legendary weightlifter known as ‘Pocket Hercules’.
During his visit to the area, Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak also attended the 9th International Istanbul Open Chess Tournament, which featured over 900 athletes from 25 different countries. Minister Bak emphasized the unifying and healing power of sports, noting its importance in keeping youth away from harmful habits. He also highlighted that Sultangazi has earned the title of European Sports City for 2026.
