NAIPE urges prudent capital deployment following insurance recapitalisation

The Nigerian Association of Insurance and Pension Editors (NAIPE) has called on insurance companies and pension fund administrators to strategically and prudently deploy capital raised through recent recapitalisation exercises. The goal is to maximize investment returns and create greater value for shareholders, investors, and policyholders.

NAIPE Chairperson Ebere Nwoji noted that the insurance industry completed its recapitalisation on July 31, while the pension industry is currently undergoing a similar process expected to conclude next year. To address these structural changes, NAIPE will host its 11th Annual National Conference on October 8 in Lagos. The conference, themed ‘Post Recapitalisation and Market Dynamics in Insurance and Pension Sectors’, aims to provide stakeholders with practical insights into investment strategies that can deepen market confidence and improve service delivery.

Nwoji commended the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) for successfully concluding the insurance sector's recapitalisation and expressed optimism regarding the National Pension Commission's (PenCom) ongoing efforts.
