Julius Erving Award Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame NCAA Division I college basketball small forward

The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame has announced the 20-player watch list for the 2027 Julius Erving Award. The annual honor recognizes the top small forward in NCAA Division I men’s college basketball.

Among the candidates are Billy Richmond III of Arkansas and Coen Carr of Michigan State. Richmond, a preseason All-SEC selection, is noted for his agility and scoring potential, while Carr is recognized for his athleticism and rebounding capabilities.

The watch list features players from various conferences, including the SEC and Big Ten. The field of 20 will be narrowed to 10 players in February and five finalists in March. The winner will be selected by Erving and the Hall of Fame selection committees in late March.
