Naixin Zhang wins Castelfidardo International Accordion Festival

Naixin Zhang, a student of Cao Xiao Qing at the Beijing Conservatory, has won the prestigious soloist category at the 51st Castelfidardo International Accordion Festival (PIF). This marks the sixth time in the history of the competition that a Chinese contestant has received this award.

Zhang performed “Signature,” a piece composed by Michele Mangani, accompanied by the string orchestra of the “Rossini” Conservatory of Pesaro. The performance earned high acclaim for its technical precision and expressive maturity. Alessandro Pagliari and Marius Kuksta placed second and third, respectively, in a highly competitive field.

The 51st edition of the festival featured thirty events, including concerts and presentations, aimed at highlighting the central role of the accordion. Artistic director Cesare Chiacchiaretta credited the success of the event to the collaborative efforts of the administration, sponsors, and local staff.
