NAJK protests agricultural policy with modified traffic signs

The Nederlands Agrarisch Jongeren Kontakt (NAJK) has launched a protest action by modifying traffic signs across the Netherlands, including in Bunschoten. One sign was altered to read: ‘Hier loopt de toekomst van een jonge boer dood’ (Here the future of a young farmer ends).

The organization, which represents the interests of young farmers and growers, is protesting against the potential revocation of permits and the increasing accumulation of regulations. NAJK argues that young farmers need long-term certainty and perspective to invest in sustainability and business succession.

Key demands from the organization include the protection of valid permits for entrepreneurs following existing rules and a requirement for provinces to provide clarity regarding Natura 2000 areas by the end of 2026 to restart the permit process.
