Naju City prepares Yeongsan River gardens and humanities academy
Naju City is preparing for the 2026 Naju Yeongsan River Festival, scheduled for October 7–11, by expanding its autumn flower gardens. The flowerbed area has been increased from 24 hectares to 39 hectares, featuring new varieties such as zinnias and cockscombs alongside sunflowers, cosmos, and buckwheat.
In conjunction with these seasonal preparations, the city is also hosting the 6th Yeongsan River Humanities Academy. Running from September 4 to October 3, the program aims to re-examine the historical, cultural, and ecological value of the Yeongsan River, spanning from the ancient Mahan period to modern urban planning and digital heritage preservation.
