Ünal Üstel announces reforms for Security Forces Command personnel rights

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel has announced that three separate legislative bills are being submitted to the Cabinet to strengthen the personal rights of Security Forces Command personnel and address the evolving needs of the command.

The reforms aim to restructure and update existing cadres within the Security Forces Command. Additionally, the regulations seek to align the salary scales of military civil servants with their public sector counterparts in accordance with Law No. 47/2010 regarding the regulation of monthly wages and other allowances for public employees.

A key component of the legislation ensures that personnel undergoing status changes—such as transitioning from non-commissioned officer to commissioned officer, or from contract service to non-commissioned officer—will have their previous service within the institution recognized as actual service. Üstel emphasized that these measures are intended to resolve long-standing issues and ensure that the labor and service provided by security personnel are properly compensated.
