The National Unity Party (UBP) has finalized its 50-member parliamentary candidate list ahead of the December 6 general elections. The selection process, which included 80 candidates, saw a turnout of 8,929 members on October 24.

The list includes candidates distributed across several regions: 16 from Nicosia, 12 from Famagusta, 12 from Kyrenia, 5 from Iskele, 3 from Güzelyurt, and 2 from Lefke. The final selection incorporated gender quotas and party quotas.

UBP Chairman and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel described the primary as the party’s most transparent and modern election to date. Addressing objections raised following the results, Üstel emphasized that the members' will is binding and that the process was conducted securely. Party Secretary General Ahmet Savaşan added that the digital voting system was demonstrated to and monitored by Supreme Electoral Council (YSK) officials to ensure integrity.
