Nalanda man allegedly beaten to death over debt dispute

A man, identified as Surendra Manjhi, was allegedly beaten to death in the Nalanda district of Bihar following a dispute over a debt. His wife, Nauleja Devi, claims that the couple was abducted from their home and taken to a secluded location.

Nauleja Devi alleged that she and her husband were tied to a tree and subjected to physical assaults and electric shocks. She stated that even after the remaining Rs 1,000 of a debt was returned during the assault, her husband was killed. She managed to escape through a window.

Reports indicate the dispute may be linked to a larger sum of Rs 4.5 lakh previously taken from a contractor, Mukesh Yadav. The victim's body was reportedly recovered from a grave. The wife has named Mukesh Yadav, Manish, Dilkhush, and her cousin Mauli Devi as those responsible. Police investigations are ongoing to establish the facts of the case.
