Nalasopara: Shiv Sena corporator booked for alleged assault

An FIR has been registered against Hemlata Singh, a Shiv Sena corporator from the Vasai-Virar City Municipal Corporation, following an alleged assault in Nalasopara, Palghar district.

The dispute reportedly originated from an offensive comment made by a young man on Facebook. According to the complainant, Dharmendra Vishwakarma, he was summoned to a hotel by an individual named Arjun Dubey, where he was subsequently confronted by Hemlata Singh and an associate named Amrish.

The complaint alleges that the victim was shoved, slapped, and beaten with bamboo sticks. Furthermore, it is claimed that a gold chain and a smartphone valued at approximately ₹20,000 were forcibly taken from him.

While one individual, Manish Singh, has been arrested in connection with the case, police state that Hemlata Singh and other primary accused individuals remain at large. A cross-FIR has also been filed, and investigations by the Tuljinch police are ongoing.
