NALCO pays record ₹1,083 crore dividend to Indian government
National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has issued a record dividend of ₹2,112.12 crore for the 2025-26 financial year. Of this total, the Government of India received ₹1,083.06 crore, marking the company’s highest-ever dividend payout. The company reported a profit after tax of ₹5,815.76 crore for the period.
NALCO CMD Brijendra Pratap Singh presented the dividend cheque to Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy during an investor roadshow for the Angul Aluminium Park in Kolkata. The event was also attended by Ministry of Mines Secretary Keshav Chandra.
The record payout coincides with a strategic shift toward increasing the production of high-value, finished aluminium products to reduce India’s reliance on imports, which currently total approximately $4 billion annually. The government aims to move NALCO from exporting alumina to processing it into value-added products domestically. The Angul Aluminium Park in Odisha is expected to play a central role in this expansion and the broader aluminium ecosystem.
