Naldy Saldaña cancels solo debut due to security concerns

Cumbia singer Naldy Saldaña has canceled her upcoming solo debut performance scheduled for October 10 at La Catedral de la Cumbia. The artist announced the decision via social media, citing security concerns.

Saldaña stated that she has received a series of messages over recent days alerting her to potential risks regarding her safety and the safety of those around her. While she noted she could personally assume the risk, she emphasized that she is unwilling to expose her family, work team, musicians, guest artists, and the public to any danger.

The cancellation comes after weeks of preparation, including rehearsals and the production of custom costumes, some of which the singer crafted herself. Saldaña expressed regret over the significant economic investment and production costs that must now be absorbed due to the suspension.
