Namhae County accelerates revitalization of public buildings
Namhae County is accelerating plans to revitalize the operation of idle or underutilized public buildings. During a recent task force report meeting, officials reviewed the status of 270 facilities to determine specific management strategies.
Of the surveyed buildings, 243 are operating normally. For the remaining facilities, the county is implementing tailored plans including revitalization, changes in operational methods, or decommissioning and disposal. Some facilities previously considered for demolition are being re-evaluated for potential use based on local demand and regional conditions.
Specific initiatives include: - The former Mijo 119 Safety Center is undergoing consultation regarding its future use. - Food support centers and local food stores will expand supply chains and integrate with public delivery apps. - Waste treatment facilities will be repurposed into public wood shredding sites and vehicle garages.
The county aims to strengthen its responsibility management system by assigning specific departments to oversee operational plans while tasking the property management team with administrative procedures for facilities slated for disposal.
