The 7th annual Namhae Cup International Yacht Race is being held from the 3rd to the 6th, connecting the coastal cities of Busan, Tongyeong, and Yeosu. Approximately 300 athletes from eight different countries are participating in the event.
The competition consists of several stages. The race begins in the Gamakman area of Yeosu on the 4th, followed by a leg from Yeosu to Tongyeong on the 5th. The final stage on the 6th covers the distance from Tongyeong to Busan, a stretch of approximately 60 to 71 kilometers expected to take up to nine hours. Award ceremonies will be held at The Bay 101 in Busan and Donam Port in Tongyeong.
Alongside the main races, the Namhae Marine Festival includes various activities such as youth yacht competitions in Gyeongnam and an IQ-Foil professional championship in Busan. These events are organized jointly by Busan, Gyeongnam, and Jeonnam to promote marine tourism and regional cooperation along the South Coast.
