Namibia and Nicaragua express solidarity with Cuba against US embargo

The Namibian National Assembly has begun debating a motion to affirm solidarity with Cuba in opposition to the economic and financial embargo imposed by the United States. Members of Parliament highlighted Cuba’s historical role in supporting Namibia’s liberation movement against apartheid, with several representatives calling for continued support against what they described as unjust economic warfare.

In a separate expression of support, a Nicaraguan committee issued a statement condemning unilateral measures and recent financial restrictions announced by Washington. The organization expressed concern regarding the impact of the blockade on Cuba’s sovereignty and the living conditions of its citizens, calling for the issue to be addressed within international bodies like the United Nations.
