Russia thrashes Namibia 6-0 ahead of Nigeria friendly
Russia's national football team secured a dominant 6-0 victory against Namibia in an international friendly held at the Ekaterinburg Arena. Lechi Sadulaev opened the scoring in the 37th minute, followed by second-half goals from Danil Prutsev, Konstantin Tyukavin, Maksim Glushenkov, and a Maksim Petrov penalty. An own goal by Namibia's Kamaijanda Ndisiro finalized the scoreline.
The victory serves as a warm-up for Russia's upcoming friendly against Nigeria on October 6 in Nizhny Novgorod. Meanwhile, the Nigerian Super Eagles face significant squad challenges ahead of their match. The team has been depleted by injuries to captain Wilfred Ndidi and defender Victory Akpe, as well as club-imposed travel restrictions on players such as Raphael Onyedika, Bright Osayi-Samuel, and Moses Usor.
Nigeria's squad currently consists of 18 available players as they prepare for the encounter at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium.
