Namibia expands international partnerships in maritime and energy sectors

The Port autonome de Pointe-Noire (Papn) and Namibia’s Namport have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a structuring partnership. The agreement, signed in Pointe-Noire, focuses on exchanging technical expertise, sharing port management best practices, facilitating commercial exchanges, and promoting both ports as competitive regional hubs.

Separately, Libya and Namibia are exploring expanded cooperation within the energy sector. During the ONS 2026 Conference in Norway, Libyan Oil and Gas Minister Khalifa Abdel Sadiq and Namibian Minister Modestus Amutse discussed potential links between their respective national oil companies. The talks centered on technical knowledge exchange, capacity building, and attracting investment to maximize the economic value of natural resources, particularly as Namibia sees increased interest in its offshore energy basins.
