Namibia hosts art exhibition to fund Cuban medical supplies
Approximately 30 Namibian artists are participating in the ‘Art for Cuba’ exhibition in Windhoek to raise funds for Cuban health centers. The initiative aims to collect 100,000 Namibian dollars (approximately 6,000 U.S. dollars) to provide medical supplies and solar power kits to assist Cuban facilities facing electricity and resource shortages.
Namibian Vice President Lucia Witbooi officially opened the exhibition at the Bellhaus Atelier and Galerie, emphasizing the need to reciprocate Cuba’s historical support during Namibia’s liberation struggle. Witbooi called on the private sector, art collectors, and the public to contribute to the cause, describing the event as a practical expression of the enduring friendship and solidarity between the two nations.
