Namibia invests in environmental education through NaDEET

The Namib Desert Environmental Education Trust (NaDEET) Educator Programme is working to build a network of environmental champions in Namibia. Supported by a N$150,000 contribution from the Nedbank Go Green Fund, which is facilitated by the Namibia Nature Foundation (NNF), the initiative focuses on practical sustainability skills.

NaDEET operates two main facilities: the NaDEET Centre on the NamibRand Nature Reserve and the Urban Sustainability Centre in Swakopmund. The program emphasizes immersive learning over traditional classroom theory, teaching participants about renewable energy, water conservation, waste management, biodiversity protection, and climate change adaptation through direct experience and environmental audits.
