Namibia pageant winners pledge continued community work
Outgoing Miss Namibia Johanna Swartbooi reflected on a year of service that included representing Namibia at Miss Universe, launching the Hapo Initiative to support young creatives, and serving as the face of the Namibian Diamond Board. She acknowledged financial constraints that limited the initiative’s reach but said the program will resume in the coming months and that she will keep advocating for community projects after handing over her crown.
Teenager Jessica Nokokure Kurth was crowned Miss Teen Namibia 2026 in Otjinene. She plans to use the title to promote her nutrition and food‑security campaign, Kutisee Ezumo, which encourages children and families to “feed themselves.” Her win drew crowds from across Namibia and neighboring Botswana and highlights how pageantry can provide a platform for social advocacy.
